This was an interesting project. We were asked by our good friends at Bigger Splash to produce a “steam effect” clear self adhesive vinyl that they could apply to their clients mirror.
The idea was to make it look like a mirror with condensation running down it, with lettering written in the mist with a finger.
Using our HP Latex 800W we were able to produce a multi layered print onto clear self adhesive vinyl, consisting of white ink background shaded to give the effect of steam, overlayed with a greyscale image of steam and water droplets.
The clever part is, these two layers were printed at the same time in a process known as “sandwich printing”.
