We were approached by a good customer of ours to print a large multi section 3.5m x 2.5m billboard poster on Blueback. The problem was, the only image they had was an extremely low resolution 300k JPG file. They asked if there was anything we could do to improve it.
Our solution was to go “Old School”, we applied a course CMYK Halftone screen to the image which had the combined effect of hiding the low res pixels, whilst giving the poster a charming “retro” look – which actually worked quite well given the subject matter.
Given our history in large format screen printing, the end results caused quite a lot of interest here in the studio.
